I had the honor of coming back to work in my old stomping grounds this spring. If you know my story, I started my teaching career in Fullerton School District, and rediscovered my passion for video through a program called The ArtsLAB Project: a mobile video editing lab on a bus led by a drama teacher and a tech teacher. I left Fullerton to pursue “ed-tech” leadership in East Whittier City School District in 2008. I reconnected with a former Fullerton colleague at CUE in Palm Springs in March.
I got to work with Trang Lai, Principal of Fisler school and her staff to put together a video introduction for display on the school website. Fisler is Fullerton School District’s flagship technology implementation school. One of the enjoyable aspects of working on this video was meeting some highly competent and passionate teachers, parents, and students who have a deep well of motivation as well as technological skill and experience. I also enjoyed reconnecting with some colleagues that I hadn’t seen in a few years.
