Chroma Key – Commonly known as green screen, with this technology, students can appear to be anywhere.
Inexpensive start up costs – While installing an on-campus cable system can cost tens of thousands of dollars, patching into an existing cable system is fairly inexpensive. Alternatively going with a web-based solution is also friendly on the budget.
Flexibility – Studio can have a chroma key (green screen) background, a school-themed background, a standard photo studio muslin background or some combination thereof.
Teleprompter – Student news anchors have to deliver a lot of information accurately. Make their job easier by adding the teleprompter option. Available for Chromebook or iPad solutions.
Facilitated learning curve – Tech-savvy teachers can begin using the system after just a few hours of training. We also offer training packages to help eager but less technically experienced teachers who have the vision for a campus video channel, but are still working at gaining the technical expertise to realize that dream.
Live Editing:
Basic Studio: powered by OBS, an open-source switching/encoding app similar to Wirecast software. OBS is the only Youtube endorsed open-source encoder allowing students to video capture, live-edit, encode, record, and stream your campus broadcast.
The Deluxe Studio incorporates a Blackmagic Design ATEM switcher.
The Advanced Studio extends the use of the Blackmagic Design ATEM switcher adding additional cameras and student production team workflows.
For schools that already have cable systems in place, there are some inexpensive methods to tap into that system and begin broadcasting in real-time to every connected monitor. Most schools do not have the cable option, for them using a free or paid Internet-based solution is a great alternative.
Equipment Costs – The basic equipment package fluctuates with the market and starts at a little over $3,600. We take care of ordering and delivery and yes, we do take purchase orders.
If a district wants to make a bulk purchase triggering a bid, Rosa Media Productions provides a detailed list of equipment and works with the purchasing department so the schools can take advantage of educational discounts when possible.
You can check current prices of the various pieces in the studio set up packages via my page with examples of the gear you can use to set up a video studio. Set-Up and Training Fees – Rosa Media Productions fees start with our basic training at $1,597.00 and include studio set up, and a half-day training for the lead staff.
Support Packages – This all sounds awesome, but what about when something goes wrong? Rosa Media Productions’ school video studios can be purchased with a renewable support plan including, phone, email, remote screen sharing and even onsite help when needed.

We offer three levels of training for schools to implement an on-campus video broadcast studio:
This is a half day crash course on how to use the studio gear. This training is most successful for the enthusiastic teacher with a fairly solid “techie” background.
This full day training allows more time for repetition, hands-on practice, and getting started using the gear on authentic studio work. Ideal for the non-techie teacher/team who needs a longer runway to get off the ground with their skills.
This training package couples the full day studio training with up to five coaching/support calls during the first 3 months of studio use. Perfect for teachers who need a little more support as they get their live production video broadcast studio rolling like clockwork.
