The best use of AR at a school site includes monitoring all 3 goals: Accuracy, Points, and Reading Level. We took our school from only recognizing point goals to recognizing all three goals. We literally went from 1.6% of students making all three goals to 22% of students making all three goals. In other words, we went from 12 students making all three goals to 160 students making all three goals.
The center piece of this campaign was our daily broadcast showing the Three Goals of Accelerated Reader video and giving on-screen recognition to achievers every 6 weeks. We backed this up with additional training and support for our teaching staff and easy access to computers for test-taking.
